NEW AUSTIN ENERGY CODE: Effective January 1, 2008
All permitted work on or after Januray 1, 2008 within the city of Austin must now meet the standards of the new Austin Energy Code. The Austin Energy Code is the 2006 International Energy Conservation Code with amendments. Some of these amendments include energy efficient roofing, energy efficient lighting, a new plan analysis software, and a new third-party testing requirement on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment.
